US-Israel-Iran War Latest News: As military tensions between the United States and Iran continue to rise, an article published by Iran’s state-linked news agency Fars has argued that Tehran must develop a nuclear weapon to strengthen its position against its rivals. The article comes after several days of US airstrikes and Iranian retaliation, with both sides accusing each other of violating a recently agreed ceasefire.
The opinion piece claims Iran can no longer rely on diplomacy alone and must achieve what it calls “nuclear deterrence” before negotiating with the United States and its allies.

According to the article, Iran should enter future negotiations only after building enough military strength to prevent foreign powers from threatening or attacking the country. It argues that nuclear capability would discourage military action and improve Tehran’s bargaining position.
The article stated, “In the transition to a new order, Iran has no choice but to achieve nuclear deterrence so that the military option of occupying and dividing Iran is taken off the table. To achieve the peace it needs, Iran must definitely achieve nuclear deterrence to ensure that the remaining issues can be resolved through negotiation. Only then can negotiation be conducted from the right position.”

The Fars article also referred to China while explaining its argument for nuclear deterrence. It suggested that countries are treated differently once they possess nuclear weapons.
It stated, “The US has threatened China with nuclear attack twice, such as Trump’s recent nuclear threats against Iran. But when does Kissinger secretly meet with the Chinese and then negotiate? When China builds atomic bombs.”

The article insists that nuclear weapons would not necessarily prevent war altogether but could limit the scale of future conflicts by creating a balance of power among nuclear-armed countries.
It reads, “Nuclear deterrence means that you can achieve a balance of power against the United States and Israel, which have atomic bombs, not so that there will be no war, but the scope of the conflict will be controllable.”

The article appeared as the United States and Iran exchanged fresh military strikes for the third consecutive day. The US targeted Iranian military infrastructure, including surveillance systems, air defences, communications networks and drone facilities, while Iran responded with missile and drone attacks.
The latest fighting has also triggered air defence alerts in Kuwait and Bahrain and renewed concerns over the security of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Although peace negotiations are scheduled to continue, the fresh exchange of attacks has increased uncertainty over whether both sides can return to diplomacy.
