The collision occurred on the eastbound carriageway of the A13 in Newham and involved multiple vehicles. Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a serious road traffic collision.
Emergency crews treated several injured people at the scene while collision investigators began examining the area. The incident resulted in significant disruption as authorities closed part of the road to allow emergency operations and forensic investigations to continue.
A13 Crash: When & How Did the Crash Happen?
The crash happened at around 8:15 pm (BST) on Thursday, June 25, on the eastbound section of the A13 in East London. According to the Metropolitan Police, investigators believe the collision involved multiple vehicles and are examining the sequence of events that led to the fatal incident.
Detectives are also investigating it as a suspected hit-and-run after some vehicles allegedly failed to remain at the scene. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Police have also urged members of the public not to share videos of the incident on social media and instead provide any footage directly to investigators.

The eastbound section of the A13 remained closed for several hours following the collision while emergency services cleared the scene and investigators carried out forensic examinations.
