Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News: Former FBI Agent Hopeful Case ‘Will Be Solved’
Jeniffer Coffindafer, a former FBI agent, recently gave an interview where she discussed the ongoing homicide (upgraded to homicide from missing person case) investigation for Nancy Guthrie. And she reaffirmed her hopeful outlook towards the case.
“In terms of future predictions, I essentially 100 percent believe this will be solved. I’m not 90 percent sure. I’m 99 percent sure it will be solved”, she said. Coffindafer then added that there will be new developments in the case from 1st August.

Nancy Guthrie Case Latest News: Grave Search in Mexico Resumes
Volunteers from the group Buscando Corazones (Searching for Hearts) have decided to carry on with the search for Nancy Guthrie’s potential grave. For most members of the volunteer group, one family member has disappeared, so the case of Savannah Guthrie’s 84 year old mother resonates with them.
The search started earlier this month after the volunteers received an anonymous tip about the location of Nancy Guthrie’s potential grave. However, the sender of the ransom notes has been dismissive towards it, stating “I am not the idiot who recently called in a tip about her burial site in Mexico”.
Skepticism Brews Over Authenticity of Latest Ransom Note
Last week, a new ransom note which was sent to entertainment outlet TMZ made multiple claims about Nancy Guthrie. It claimed to possess video footage featuring her with ‘the main guy’ and a hidden phone with key information about the case.
However, FBI profiler James Fitzgerald expressed skepticism over how authentic the latest ransom note is. “I’m not sure any communication – and people are calling them notes, letters, whatever, posts, but I’m just going to call them communications, however they showed up – I don’t think any of them are authentic. And that includes this most recent one”, he said.

Nancy Guthrie Case Investigation Update: FBI Instructs TMZ to ‘Stand Down’
Earlier today, TMZ founder Harvey Levin claimed that he wanted to make a ransom offer to the anonymous sender of the ransom notes. The FBI was initially interested, as long as the offer was made under its strict supervision but later on ‘ghosted him’.
Levin also suggested making a documentary wherein TMZ would make a Bitcoin transaction with the sender, under FBI supervision. But the federal agency recently asked him to back out from both the documentary as well as the ransom offer.
“I did get a call back this week and they asked us to stand down, to not do the documentary. I was told that they feel like they’re making progress in terms of identifying this person, and they think they can do that”, Levin said.
